With a mad dash to the finish line, my novella Dues Ex Machina is off to the publisher — 1/4 of the Women of the Apocalpyse project due to be released October 31st at the World Fantasy Convention in San Jose (which I will be attending).   What’s the Women of the Apocalypse?  I’m glad you asked:

Four women, four shooters, four destinies to save the world from the Apocalypse…

The four horseman are coming. And so the four Archangels find the perfect champions to save the world — fighters, warriors, soldiers. All brave men ready to fight for humanity against end times. All these warriors have to do is drink a shooter — a caustic mix of booze and divinity that would imbue them with the strength to battle the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Except these male warriors didn’t drink the shooters. Because of fate, or chance, or call it what you will, but four women (who have no plans for saving the world) drink the divine concoction — thereby signaling that they are taking up the mantel of champion…

My story, Dues Ex Machina is a supernatural thriller:  Two miles beneath the surface, a massive secret project nears completion — a project that could spell the end of the world’s energy problem.  For Julia Wolfe, it also signals the completion of a long and lonely path.  However, when testing on the project begins, Julia’s realizes that they are not alone in the subterranean world — there is something down there in the dark…something evil.

I am extremely pleased with my story — and my job is to get it into as many hands as possible.  That means I’ll be calling on you to help me achieve this goal.  You see, as wonderful as any story may be, as artistic as any writing can be, numbers (sales) are the ultimate tool.  And if I can get enough books out there (for holding up your rickety bed…for lining your bookshelf to impress your friends with your library…) it signals to the publisher that my product is indeed one worth promoting.
