I’d like to report something on the writing front. Anything at all. Maybe that I’d written like…you know…even two words. Nope, not a thing. I have an excuse, I think. I’m lazy. Okay, maybe not, but I’ve been busy.
So we’re moving quickly at the new house — the renovations still continue. The bathrooms are coming along nicely (stalled for a while there), but we moved on Friday, unpacked, had John and Danielle over on Saturday (they ate insects for dinner….I tried to talk them out of it, but there they were cracking shells and slurping down the innards), then on Sunday was D&T’s baby shower. Hosted by us.
Mind you, the house is looking pretty good. Cleaned up the property, started tiling the basement, the garage is being re-roofed. Lots happening.
Except for writing.
I’m going away in Florida next week so I’m hoping to get some edits done for Curse of the Black Swan. And I want to start sending out The Sorcerer’s Wife as well as posting it on this site.
Ohhh, I did find time on Saturday night to take in a little Ultimate Fighting Championship. My favourite fighter George St Pierre (GSP) took on the hick Matt Hughes. We were on our feet, I tell you, as he claimed victory. Of course, the important thing is that this means there will be a UFC in Montreal in a few months. Road Trip.
Don’t forget “helping my clueless friend find a house” on that list of things you’ve been doing. I honestly have no idea how you keep the pace you have going.
Easy…we don’t watch television. I’ve also cut out such extraneous activies as sleeping, eating (except junk food), or showering.
And I’ve taken up smoking and drinking coffee.
Life is good.
Yes, road trip indeed. And it couldn’t have been timed more betterer – thanks to the groin pull delaying this bout.
But as for having done nothingÂ… maybe with the writing, but not with anything else. I think you summed it up quite nicely – there’s been a TON going on for you guys in the last little while. So it’s completely understandable. And furthermore, I’d wager you’ll start flowing with the word again soon, now that some of the bigger stuff is out of the way.
Besides, keeping the writing down to the bare minimum right now has allowed me to catch up with your websites and realign things in the new direction we’re going.
So really, this was all a plan on your part to allow me to catch up on my negligent duties right?
You HAVE been busy, haven’t you? I don’t have that excuse — not to the degree you do, anyhow.
Glad the house is working out. Now, back to work, my friend. And I’d appreciate it if you’d remind me, gently of course, about MY writing. I have been so negligent…. is that word even spelled right? Probably not. But the meaning is the same. I have abandoned my darlings. And that is not a good thing. For either of us.
